The mission of Behavioral Treatment Services is to provide
provide accessible, integrated, and inclusive behavioral health services supporting clients throughout the criminal justice system. Behavioral Treatment Services provides a continuum of specialized adult offender substance abuse and other treatment modalities. Being a part of the BTS team means being a part of the forefront of Colorado’s behavioral health and criminal justice programs and initiatives. Our goals are to provide a space toward client healing, reduce criminal recidivism, assist clients in working towards personal growth, and collaborate with the system and client to work towards mutually agreeable goals.

BTS provides clinical services, court related services, and specialized programs for adults involved in the criminal justice system. BTS provides services at community corrections sites (including residential treatment programs), outpatient locations, jail based, and court liaison programs in 9 counties across Colorado.

The Bridges Program Court Liaison provides a continuum of specialized adult offender substance abuse, dual diagnosis, and community resource case management services through collaboration with Judicial and Court systems. The Court Liaison is responsible for client needs-based assessments, goal planning and case management for individuals as they transition through the judicial court system. The Court Liaison will work with court referral systems to assess for need for community resources/support. In addition, the Court Liaison is expected to maintain required documentation collaborate with referring/community agencies, maintain updated community resource information (public and private) and document referral outcome.

Hours: Full Time M-F days
Starting Pay: $24.04/hour
*This is a contract position until the end of June. Other positions within the company may be available after the contract is up. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support, promote and adhere to BTS’s mission, values and Code of Conduct 
  • Reflect BTS’s commitment to treating all persons with dignity and respect
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and company information 
  • Carry out all duties/responsibilities in accordance with Company values, policies and procedures, applicable laws and contractual obligations 
  • Conduct needs based assessments to connect clients to applicable services/resources
  • Conduct individual case management sessions
  • Collaborate with Client and Court Team to develop, implement, and revise individualized need, goals, and plans 
  • Maintain timely and appropriate communications with Court Team and Community Providers 
  • Integrate Motivational Enhancement Therapy/Motivational Interviewing/Solution Focused Brief Therapy into all aspects of interaction
  • Communicate with judges, lawyers, court system, families, supervising officers, and community agencies regarding assessment, treatment, and referrals, as appropriate 
  • Maintain required documentation in all areas including, but not limited to:  liaison’s assessment notes, daily interaction charting, weekly staffing notes, transition summaries, and case plans 
  • Attend treatment team and court program staff meetings as needed
  • Attend court as needed
  • Function in accordance with the profession’s Code of Ethics and Facility’s policies and procedures 
  • Frequently drive personal car to court, jail and/or other sites as required, including in adverse weather 
  • Attend required trainings and meetings, apply skills and knowledge
  • Regular and predictable attendance 
  • Good steward of Company human, financial and capital resources 
  • Participate effectively as a team member through communication, cooperation, information sharing and problem solving
  • Any other tasks or duties as assigned

  • This job operates in a professional office environment.  
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers and filing cabinets. 
  • Work involves working alone with groups of criminal offenders. 
  • Duties involve contact with clients or other persons who may be hostile, threatening, dangerous, aggressive and/or under the influence of drugs or alcohol. 
  • This position involves inside work with no exposure to weather conditions 
  • Travel: frequently drives personal car throughout local area/state to go to other work sites, attend meetings, trainings, court appearances, etc.  
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually low. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor  degree (BA/BS) or equivalent from accredited university in social work, psychology, counseling, human services or related field 
  • Experience and familiarity in working within the criminal justice system 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community resources available and ability to independently maintain updated resource connection 
  • Experience in collaboratively developing and monitoring client goals, objectives, and case plans 
  • Valid Colorado Driver’s License and proof of insurance 
  • Must pass background check and have ability to access to state criminal databases 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the way to listen to individuals, to summarize the major points and clarify what they are feeling in order to help them reflect on their behavior 
  • Ability to research and utilize referral sources appropriately  
  • Understanding of substance dependency and its impact on the brain, body and behavior 
  • Ability to synthesize complicated information received through a variety of sources, such as written, non-verbal, spoken, etc.   
  • Ability to enter data, generate reports and create communications from variety of software programs and databases, including EHRs 
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and in either one-on-one or group settings 
  • Ability to remain calm in and de-escalate stressful situations 
  • Ability to organize and manage time to complete work and meet deadlines 
  • Knowledge of the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and appropriate techniques and practices for the client populations  
  • Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with Company staff, stakeholders, and with diverse client base 
  • Controls problem situations in a calm and directive manner 
  • Demonstrates good interpersonal relationships with other team members 
  • Utilizes and demonstrates cultural competency  
  • Computer skills -- Ability to enter data, generate reports and create communications from variety of software programs and databases
